A brief introduction

I've worked in the field of Adult Basic Education for five years, when I started working with adult ESL and GED students in Mesa County, Colorado. Previously an anthropology major now pursuing a M.Ed. in Adult Education and Human Resources, my goal with this website is to create a space where you can find the tools and resources you need to create meaningful classroom experiences for your adult learners.

My role in adult education (needs revision)

I stumbled into adult education by accident. I grew up in Mesa County, Colorado, but completed my undergraduate degree in 2015 at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. There, I studied cultural anthropology and built relationships with underserved communities still affected by Hurricane Katrina. When I moved back to Mesa County in 2016, I stepped into a role at the Mesa County Libraries Adult Learning Center, where I have since become the supervisor of the program. In working with adult learners attempting to gain adult basic education skills and knowledge, my philosophy is to equip underserved learners with the skills necessary to become self-sufficient as they pursue educational and career goals.
